Geo Metro - The Best in Fuel Economy

The cost of owning a General Motors Geo Metro ranges from $8,500 to $11,500, depending upon the trim level and the auxiliary options undertaken.

Engine Specifications

The coupe has a 1.0L 55HP 3-cylinder engine which is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission drive. Its fuel economy ranges from 44 mpg in city conditions to 48.7 in highway conditions. The sedan has a 1.3L 70HP four-cylinder engine with an option of going for a three-speed automatic transmission. Its fuel economy ranges from 39.2 mpg in city conditions to 42.8 mpg in highway conditions. It takes 12 seconds to reach from 0 to 60 mph.

Internal Features

All the Geo Metro Models include rear seats which can be split-folded and having trunk pass-through, full carpeting, and center console having cup holders, body side moldings, fabric protector, and outside mirrors. The window lines are relatively low, hood is sloping and roof pillars are comparatively thin, allowing improved visibility.

External Features

The Metro has small headlights, and air dam which is oval shaped. The dimensions of the vehicle have also been greatly increased by doing the needful modifications on the earlier 5-door hatchback. The Metro is available in metallic, white, red, silver, and black colors.

Tired of paying $90 dollars to fill up that big SUV or pickup truck each week? Want to buy the most fuel efficient vehicle possible for each dollar you spend? Consumer Reports has compiled a list of the most fuel efficient vehicles in what each car will cost per gallon. The key to buying a fuel efficient car is to make every dollar count. To come up with the lowest priced car per gallon they divided the overall mpg by the price paid for the vehicle. If you are looking to buy a car with great gas mileage be sure to check the list above. Just because a car gets the best gas mileage doesn't always mean it is the cheapest in the long run. Most hybrids take 7-8 years before they give you a return on your investment and by that time the warranties are starting to run out and the car batteries, etc may need repaired or replaced which will cost you in the long run.

Don't overlook your tires on a vehicle when it comes to saving gas either. By choosing the right tires and keeping the air pressure at the appropriate level you can save up to $100 a year at today's current gas prices.
