Tough Watch heavyweights - Why diving watches are the toughest sports watches in the world

One of the best things about diving watches is that they are among the hardest watch on earth. These highly specialized sports watches with functional first priority on the watch-list designed. This is because, like a clock is exposed to greater depths, the harder it must be to ensure safe operation under pressure in an environment.

How to test diver watches

It is a rigorous international standard, a real diveMeeting need to look> for a certified diver. Clocks have a series of tests in the ISO 6425 set out over to the right to print the words "diver's watch" make over the case. See all carry this certification, the ISO 6425 test procedures that have met a special kind of guarantee that the clock is to hold up under submarine conditions.

The first test to test in the ISO-6425-procedure is a condensation. The test involves heating a plateapproximately forty-forty-five degrees Celsius, the clock is then placed on the plate and for a period of ten to twenty minutes. During this time, the clock is certain to heat up to temperature. On the Clock "crystal face, a drop of water at room temperature s stands, and a minute left and then wiped off.

If they are seen condensation forming on the crystal face, then the clock strikes the test. No further testingperformed from that date.

Another test in the procedure requires that clocks at depths that are 25% below its rated depth of the water conditions should still be tested. Slight variations in weather can cause the density of seawater to that between two and five percent difference, and it is also the science that seawater is denser than freshwater established.

Thermal shock tests on the diver as part of the test methods used. The test involves rapidTemperature changes. For a period of one hour, the clock is placed in the first forty degrees of water, then when the time expires, is rapidly delivered to five degrees of water. The clock has moved one more hour before the left is back on the forty degree water again for a final hour.

By far the longest test in the ISO process is immersed to the clock 'test s resistance to the aggression of the sea water and involves diving into a footWater for a period of about two days. Therefore, most diving watches stainless steel, titanium, plastic or ceramic can be produced, since these materials adds no rust.

With a diving Underwater

Diving watches are also for the practical application of the clock with a sports-tested under water. It is imperative that all diving watches have a mechanism for tracking the total amount of time since the beginning of the dive.

Most analogDiving watches using a unidirectional rotating bezel for diving track length, the aperture can only be turned one way and is required as part of the norm to have unique identification for each five minutes, and a scale of sixty minutes. The clock is needed, she had her 60 / 0 minute mark to twenty-five feet below the surface and the reading of the time to be readable even readable. Analog diving watches with luminous numbers pointers, while most digital dive watchesImplementation will see this with a backlit screen.

Divers watches must also specify that they work at 25 meters and in total darkness. Analog watches have a running second hand with luminescent tip. If the battery is flat out that they have a present "EOL (End of Life) must display.

Diving watches are strictly tested to the sports watches on the ground, which means a good use is likely to last for many years and certainly in and around sea water, whether you are a diver or not.
