7 House Interior Design Tips For Small Space Living

Small spaces have great potential when it comes to house interior design. Make more room while giving each space your unique design expression by applying these 7 rules the pros use!

1. Slim Down - Get a large box, basket or bag and sift through those small accents. Too many little things sitting around a small room will clog of the room's space quickly. It's amazing how much air space you will create by being super specific about what you have placed on table tops and shelves.

2. Trim Down - Heavy, bulky window treatments not only block the limited light in your small room but are also space hoggers. Free those windows by using shades, blinds or even shutters. There are some gorgeous options to be made or purchased at your favorite house interior design store. Have a little extra money to spend, have your blinds custom designed in fabrics that compliment the rest of your room's decor.

3. Color Down - Though a variety of color breaks up a large house, too much color in a small one will work against your already limited amount of space. It is best to paint all the walls one color or use a similar pallet hue for small subtle changes from room to room.

4. Lighten Up - Pull in that limited light with the use of mirrors positioned directly across from a window. Use semi gloss paint to reflect the light and keep your furniture polished and your appliances clean.

5. Fabric Up - It is better to fabric up your accents and leave the large furniture pieces to solids. If you already have a busy couch with a floral print, shapes or strips, consider toning things down a bit with a slip cover. Then, bring in those extra fabrics in your accents to provide some visual depth and emotional interest. Have fun with this part of your house interior design project!

Bring in those weaves, patterns, and quilted fabrics for this.

6. Liven Up - Nothing says open space and health like fresh plants placed around a room. Potted plants are preferred but bountiful bouquets regularly freshened up will also work well.

Limited for room? Positioning a potted plant in front of the fireplace mantle during the warmest time of the year is a great use of that space. Angle your furniture and use the extra space to display an indoor tree or palm.

7. Step Up - Light bare wood is always the best and beautiful of option for giving a small room a larger appearance. Flooring in an apartment cannot be changed but it can be changed up! Place a lighter area rug on top of the existing carpet. Or in the case of a dark linoleum find a light bamboo or Berber to bring out the light.

How To Design A Contemporary Living Room With An Electric Fireplace

Designing a modern living room is accessible today to more people than ever before because of the contemporary electric firebox. It is an inexpensive addition to any living space whether the room is large or small, is in a condominium, a loft, an apartment, or a single family home. Because an electric firebox comes in a variety of styles, people can choose from models that include mantel packages, electric log inserts, corner units, and wall mounted electric fireplace packages.

Regardless of space limitations, most electrical units offer the same benefits of being able to be plugged into any 120 volt electrical outlet and are safe to operate around children and pets because they are constructed of cool to the touch materials. The most reputable units are tested to make sure they meet UL standards and have an automatic shut off feature if the electric firebox becomes overheated. As an added bonus, most models can be thermostat controlled for energy efficiency and the flame effect can be operated with or without the heat being turned on.

A Wall Mount Electric Fireplace Offers Beauty And Space Saving Designs

For individuals who live in condominiums, lofts, apartments, and even single family dwellings, making wise use of available floor space is always a must. A wall mount electric fireplace is a space saving device that will bring any living room to life with traditional, classic, or modern designs that can accommodate a wide array of floor plans. There are many styles to choose from and include wall hanging units, or built-in electric models, including units with panoramic wrap-around window designs. With its patented flame technology, the realistic effects allow the viewer to have the ambiance of a real fire from any viewing angle so you can place it wherever you want it to be.

Not only is the wall mount electric fireplace a great space saving device, but it is also cost effective to operate. Individuals can enjoy the ambiance of a real fire for 3¢ per hour with flame only and about 12¢ per hour with the flame and heating element turned on. It is an eye-catching, space saving supplemental heat source that can heat the rooms that are regularly used by the entire family rather than heating the other rooms that are unoccupied for the majority of the time. Each unit provides about 5,000 BTUs per hour and uses a quiet fan to force the generated heat into the room.

A Wall Mount Electric Fireplace Helps Bring Advanced Technology Into A Home

As technology advances with wall-mounted televisions and digital picture frames, it is easy to see why wall mounted electric fireplaces have become so popular. These fireplaces enhance a more modern décor, safe floor space and provide a great "fire" experience. For individuals with advanced technological tastes, the wall mount electric fireplace has moved into the traditional hearth's technological slot. These units come in classical, traditional, and modern designs that include white brushed stainless steel, black stainless steel, and a unique wood finish that will compliment many decors. In addition to their modern appearance, they still offer the same random flame effect that a traditional fire produces, which creates an amazing illusion of the real thing and is a pleasant experience for all those who see it.

An Electric Unit For Easy Modern Living

Designing a contemporary living room involves making life easier as well as more beautiful. A wall mount electric fireplace does this with style and ease. Wall mount electric fireplace packages do not require gas fittings, masonry work, venting provisions in exterior walls, or expensive chimney installation. Many models simply hang on the wall and plug into a standard household outlet. Other units may be either partially or fully set in a wall requiring and may require hardwiring. Both allow you to sit back to enjoy the warmth and realistic flame of a fireplace.

A wall mount electric fireplace is a natural choice when one has limited space available and/or wants to add a contemporary element to their current furnishings. It requires no physical square footage of ground space and is available in a wide range of models that include hanging models, corner wall packages and built-in wall units. Furthermore, a wall mount electric fireplace can add an interesting focal point to any room. These units take up little space and are on par with other technological advancements. Yet unlike a computer, this advancement adds warmth and character to any room.

How to Care For an iPad

If you have invested your hard-earned money and purchased an iPad for school, your business or your personal use, then you probably want to know the best way to care for it and make sure it stays in top-performing shape. Here we gather together the best practices to help you care for your iPad.

Caring For The iPad Screen

The screen is made out of glass but it has a special oleophobic coating in order to protect it from fingerprints. Officially, it means that it's oil resistant. It is important to take good care of the screen to get the most out of the coating. Here are some ways to protect your iPad screen.

* Don't drop it on hard surfaces. It is glass and it can break.

* Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. I clean my screen after every use in order to make sure the lingering smudges don't wear on the coating.

* Do not clean it with window cleaners, glass cleaners, aerosol sprays, abrasives, or alcohol

* You can use the iKlenz solution to clean the iPad and the screen. It is safe and I use them to clean my screen every couple of weeks

You can also use a screen protector. These are not for everyone but they do work for the care of the iPad screen. Some people swear by them and others don't like having anything on their screen.

Caring For Your Batteries

Part of caring for your iPad means caring for the batteries. The batteries in your iPad are lithium polymer (rechargeable) and they will eventually wear out. It will take a long time before that happens, but there are some things you can do to care for your batteries and get the most out of them.

* Make sure you keep up on the latest iPad updates. This sounds odd but Apple will sometimes make adjustments to software which help with drain on resources and battery life.

* Go through one charge cycle per month. To do this all you have to do is charge the iPad to 100% and then run it completely out.

Caring For Your iPad: Environmental

There are also a few environmental ways to care for your iPad. Some of these are obvious while a few are not so obvious.

* Keep the iPad out of heat above 95 degrees (Fahrenheit) for an extended length of time

* Keep the iPad out of cold below 32 degrees (Fahrenheit) for an extended period of time

* Keep it out of water or extremely humid locations

* Do not dry it with an external heat source, hair dryer (it's been attempted)

It should also go without saying that part of caring for your iPad is to make sure you do not insert anything into the port connections other than the intended peripherals. Jamming things into the port connectors could render it unusable (and void the warranty).

External Protection

Protecting the outside of the iPad is part of caring for your device. You will want to get a case, sleeve, folio or bag in order to keep it safe while traveling or just for everyday use.

4 Powerful Ways to Maximize the Energy-Boosting Benefits of D-Ribose

[An exclusive interview with George Foss, former general manager of Kayser Nutrition, southern California's health food store chain to the wealthy and famous for 52 years. George has been called a "walking repository of nutritional supplement research knowledge," and is a long-time consultant to the nutritional supplement industry. Featured on a variety of television and radio news broadcasts over the past 20 years, he is widely considered by west coast news media outlets to be the nutritional supplement industry's "go to" guy on natural health topics.]

Steve Barwick: George, I understand that today you are going to reveal four simple yet very powerful ways to dramatically maximize the energy-boosting benefits of D-Ribose. We'll get to that in just a minute. But first, could you help us understand how D-Ribose helps people regain youthful energy levels - particularly people who suffer from either age-related energy deficit disorders or disease-induced energy deficit disorders?

George Foss: Well, first of all, people with disease-induced energy deficit disorders -- such as chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, Lyme disease, MS, lupus, AIDS and many others -- are actually being robbed of their vital energy by the disease process itself. In the case of chronic fatigue, it is believed that the Epstein Barr virus or some other pathogen such as mycoplasmas actually infiltrate and attack the body's cells. These pathogens severely damage the ability of the cellular mitochondria to produce sufficient amounts of ATP. Of course, ATP is the body's chief energy molecule. Since literally hundreds of millions of cells can be damaged or compromised by an underlying infectious illness, the remaining undamaged cells are left with the task of trying to produce enough ATP to fuel the entire body. It's like an eight cylinder car running on only five or six cylinders. The body simply becomes weaker and weaker over time, because the damaged cells are functioning at excessively low levels, and the undamaged cells are being taxed to their limits. The disease process spreads, because the cells cannot produce enough energy to empower the body to fight it off.

Fortunately, by supplying the body with supplemental D-Ribose -- basically flooding the cells with the nutritional fuel they need to produce dramatic levels of extra energy in the form of ATP -- you can frequently "jump start" the body back into high gear. The immune system gets the energy it needs to begin functioning at peak levels again. The brain gets the energy it needs to direct the healing process. Neurons fire better, not just in the brain but throughout the entire nervous system, sending healing chemical and electronic messages throughout the body with lightning speed. Synaptic transmission is restored to peak function. There is even some evidence that the cells damaged by the pathogens begin to recover when given the fuel they need for self-repair. And finally, energy levels are fully restored, and the body is able to pull itself out of the downward spiral caused by the underlying disease process.

Steve Barwick: What about energy deficit disorders related to aging?

George Foss: Well, aging is of course a normal process. And there is not much we can do about it but take care of our bodies by avoiding toxins and by making sure we get the proper nutrition, hydration and daily exercise our bodies need. Yet even if we are very good at doing these things, we will inevitably suffer from lower energy levels as we age. In large part, this is because, as we get older, our digestion does not function as well. And without proper digestion, our body is not able to extract the same levels of D-Ribose from food it once could. So there is less D-Ribose to send to the mitochondria for conversion into ATP. Because of this, we slowly begin to lose energy as we age. When D-Ribose is not extracted from the foods we eat and delivered to the cells in sufficient enough quantities to sustain normal everyday bodily functions, we simply begin to slow down. And quite commonly, fatigue and malaise sets in. But by supplementing with even small amounts of D-Ribose, we can make up for much of that lost energy caused by the normal aging process. The bottom line is that if we can give the cells what they need - in this case, supplemental D-Ribose -- we can maintain a much higher level of daily energy than we could if we did not supplement. This is why so many middle-aged and older folks now supplement each morning with D-Ribose.

Steve Barwick: Well, at 52 years old, I know I use it. And frankly, I wouldn't go a day without it. So what are some of the best ways to take D-Ribose for its well-known energy-boosting benefits?

George Foss: Based upon my experiences with customers over the past ten years, I'd say most healthy people who want to take D-Ribose for a little bit of extra energy generally need to take only one or two capsules a day by mouth -- usually with a little bit of food. Each capsule should be a minimum of 700 mg. That way, if you take two capsules per day, you are getting nearly a gram and a half of D-Ribose, which is a nice dose for a relatively healthy person. However, if you are suffering from any kind of energy deficit disorder, you may need to either take significantly more D-Ribose, or take it a bit differently in order to maximize its energy-boosting benefits.

Steve Barwick: You're saying there are different ways to take D-Ribose, so as to get more oomph out of it?

George Foss: Yes, absolutely. Here are four powerful ways to maximize your D-Ribose energy-boosting benefits, without having to increase your dosage:

1.) Take it sublingually. This means you should simply pour it out of the capsule directly under your tongue, and then swish it around inside your mouth so that it coats your cheeks and gums. Do this for several minutes. This allows the body to absorb much of the D-Ribose directly into the bloodstream through the rich network of veins found under the tongue, and in the cheeks and gums, thereby bypassing the normal digestive process in which some D-Ribose is inevitably lost. D-Ribose is a carbohydrate, a complex form of sugar, so it tastes slightly sweet, and for most people is not distasteful at all. This little trick alone will help dramatically maximize the effectiveness of D-Ribose when you take it.

2.) Another way to maximize your D-Ribose energy-boosting benefits is to take it with a commercial liquid hydration formula, such as Gatorade. Because Gatorade is specifically designed to hydrate the body's 7 trillion cells, mixing several 700 mg. capsules worth of D-Ribose into a glassful before drinking it will help draw the D-Ribose directly into the cells very quickly, resulting in a dramatic physical energy boost that simply cannot be achieved by taking D-Ribose with water or other liquids alone. However, insulin dependent diabetics and hypoglycemics should only use this method under a doctor's guidance and supervision, and blood sugar should be monitored closely, due to the sugars in the Gatorade.

3.) You can also dramatically maximize your D-Ribose energy-boosting benefits by taking it with synergistic nutrients. D-Ribose tends to significantly increase the body's ability to absorb and effectively utilize other nutrients. By taking it with B-vitamins, such as a good "B-50" formula, which is to say, 50 mg. of each of the major B-vitamins, you will maximize the beneficial effects of the vitamins by up to 100%. And the vitamins will dramatically extend the beneficial effects of the D-Ribose throughout the day. Other synergistic nutrients that can be taken with D-Ribose for phenomenal energy-boosting benefits are magnesium (200 mg.), malic acid (900 mg.), iodine (200 mcg.), selenium (200 mcg), tyrosine (500 mg.) and vitamin C (500 mg.), to mention but a few. One of my favorite combinations is 700 mg. of D-Ribose taken with 1,000 mg. of chewable B-12 in the methylcobalamin form.

4.) Finally, a very powerful way to maximize your D-Ribose energy-boosting benefits is to take it from time to time with an immune system booster such as Beta-glucan. This is a little-known secret I learned from several people with severe chronic fatigue, who used it to very good effect whenever they needed to quickly recover from a debilitating chronic fatigue "crash." Taken together, the synergy between D-Ribose and Beta-glucan appears to double or even triple the individual benefits of each supplement. Energy and clear thinking can often be restored within a couple of hours, even when the mental "fog" so common to chronic fatigue is severe. What's more, immunity can be restored to higher pre-crash levels very quickly. And when taken for several days in a row, the uplifting mental and physical effects of this dynamic duo can last for several days to several weeks afterwards. Some regular D-Ribose users have told me that they simply take a "booster" using this combination of nutrients once a week, in order to prevent any further chronic fatigue "crashes.' By the way, the best form of Beta-glucan to use for this technique is the fully micronized Beta-1,3-1,6-glucan, available exclusively from a company in Liberty, Texas called Nutritional Supply Corporation. They can be reached at 1-888-246-7224, extension 222. D-Ribose can, of course, be purchased from our good friends at The Silver Edge by calling 1-800-528-0559, or by visiting them online at http://www.thesilveredge.com

Steve Barwick: George, it has been a real pleasure talking with you today. And it is always an eye-opening experience. We certainly appreciate your very interesting insights. Thank you for taking the time to visit with us.

George Foss: Thank you, Steve. It's been my pleasure. For more in-depth information on D-Ribose, see the "Unique Nutritional Supplements" link at http://www.thesilveredge.com.

Outdoor Fireplace Designs - Grow Your Living Space Outdoors

One of the most dramatic improvements that can be done to your living space is the addition of a backyard fireplace. There are plenty of outdoor fireplace designs from which you can choose so that you will find one that fits your current home perfectly. As the outdoor living space has increased in popularity in recent years, the consumer has benefited from the variety of fireplace designs, from small do-it-yourself kits to large contractor assisted projects.

Once you zero in on a rough budget, start perusing magazines and do-it-yourself manuals to formulate ideas of what makes sense for you. By taking your time and making the investigative journey a fun process, you'll be more comfortable with your what you ultimately choose. Also drop in on your local home improvement center to check out material they have available to help you generate more ideas.

A nice place to start is with a quick survey of the area you have designated to make your final choice of outdoor fireplace designs come to life. When mapping out your ideas, don't forget to include other items and accessories that you want your area to include. As you will be creating a unique entertainment area, you will want to pay close attention to how it combines with existing architectural features and landscaping elements so as to coordinate all the existing exterior designs. Ideally, the fireplace will be built in an area that allows for visual contact between those inside and those outside of your home.

You should be comforted by the fact that there are an abundance of materials that you can use to bring your project to a successful completion. Even if you hope to complete the work yourself, there are tons of faux materials that resemble stone, brick, rock and other custom materials. All of these are fire rated for safety. Just inquire at any hardware store or home improvement center for safety details. You wont be disappointed with the flexibility in terms of the array of potential designs for your backyard fireplace. Ultimately, most any color to accentuate existing design concepts are readily available.

Back to the faux materials. If you want to create a custom material look and save money at the same time, consider a primarily cement built fireplace with faux siding panels of any number of materials. Stacked stone panels on top of the cement structure, just to throw out an idea, will make for a high-end looking fireplace for a fraction of the cost. Depending on your taste, you might look at a Tudor rock face panel as a faux material to make your fireplace blend with a certain pre-existing architectural look.

Whatever you do, take a look at numerous other outdoor fireplace designs before you start to pare down the potential winners. You may end up coming up with your own unique design when it's all said and done. In the end you'll find that if you have done your investigative work thoroughly, you will have chosen and built an outdoor living area that will pay you back with years and years of peaceful open-air enjoyment.

Find Decorating Ideas With Design Magazines

If you're thinking of changing the look of your home's interior design - or even if you're just dissatisfied with a single room in the house, you're probably casting about it in all directions for new ideas. And ideas are all around you - from the gloss and unreality as displayed in today's television shows, to examples you see when you visit the homes of your friends or acquaintances. There are books on interior design published every day... but books are limited to a set number of pages and can't possibly cover every aspect of design.... which is where the niche magazines covering home decorating come in. There are dozens of them, most of them focusing on a certain kind of design, while others do focus on the general aspects. So regardless of what kind of design you're looking for, an interior design magazine will probably have covered that in a past, present, or future issue.

You will find interior design magazines practically everywhere you look - from the magazine racks in book stores to home improvement stores such as Home Depot, Menard's or Lowe's. Wal-Mart and Target carry vast selections. Indeed, home decorating magazines are so popular that even your local gas station will probably have at least one on its magazine rack. Books on interior design and decorating can become dated - but magazines will always have the cutting edge information the homeowner will want to know to create the best designs possible.

These magazines - House Beautiful, O At Home, Home Companion, Veranda and Country Living to name a few - will also have the latest information on the newest gadgets, tips for cleaning and organizing the home, as well as ideas for entertaining. How many styles are there for the interior designer to choose from? There are so many that it's not possible for one book to cover them all, which is why interior design magazines are the way to go.

Design styles vary from bringing back the classics of yesteryear: the Federal style or the Edwardian style, the Adirondack style, the Art Deco style (my own personal favorite), Baroque, Bungalow, Japanese... to the modern age of PLUG (planned ugliness) to Miami modern! There are too many to list them all, which is why searching the web and reading a variety of magazines is the way to go.

Of course once you've gotten your idea out of a magazine you still have to bring it to fruition. At this point of course you'll have to start as you would with any other home design- assess who will be living in the home - if you have a lot of kids running around you probably will not want to have a lot of bric-a-brac around that could easily be broken. Although, the magazines will probably give you tips on how to ensure that that doesn't happen, regardless of how many kids you have. Interior decorating and interior design magazines are a great tool for the home owner, so make sure you consult them whenever you're planning a change or an improvement.

100k Plus Home Based Businesses - Are They For Real? What Do They Look Like?

For some, 100k is a target especially in middle income America. One hundred thousand dollars means opportunity for some, luxury for others and just plain riches for a few too, I'm sure.

Home based businesses that offer a legitimate income of 100k plus are more than likely going to be direct sales business models with a high end product. We have all heard stories of people getting into a MLM and making 30k or 50k in one month. Typically we don't do our research to find out that these individuals may have been at it for 3-5 years and had invested a lot of money and time.

They also had previous business experiences that prepared them for this level of success. Making 100k plus in a work at home business is definitely attainable, especially with the power of the Internet, and a strong product or service couple with unique systems that allow a person to focus only on income producing activities.

Keep in mind, many people say they want to make 100k plus and work from home. They want time freedom and extra money to do the things they have been putting off. I've found though, when it comes right down to it, most people aren't willing to let go of the thinking that keeps them broke and in a job they despise.

Making 100k plus is a good step along the way. A good beginning. Shooting for a solid number, a specific target can be very powerful. Much more powerful than say, making more this year. When we state we will make one hundred thousand dollars this year our subconscious and creative powers go to work to find ways to make that happen.

Making different choices as we see new opportunities is the key to achieving the new goal. Remember if you want something you have never had you must do something you have never done.100k plus home based businesses are going to require you to stretch a bit. They will require a calculated risk also.

A 100k homebased business will also require a commitment from you and your family or anyone who will be affected by your new commitment.Knowing specifically what 100k or whatever your income goal is, will do for your life is also a powerful tool in achieving it. Know what you will do with the money.

Know what you would do with the extra time to spend with family. Maybe you would start a knew tradition like going to Disney over Christmas break or taking a family cruise. Writing about your knew life, the life you truly want for yourself and your family, is critical to developing it into reality. Talk about it and detail the things you will do along the way as you achieve each step of your goal.

A 100k plus home based business will, again, more that likely be a direct sales model where you are paid at the point of sale. Look for 40 to 60 percent profits. You will want back end products with 3 to 5 thousand dollar profit margins or more.

There are tasks associated with each sale. Taking orders, placing orders, collecting money, helping others, and all the other things that come with a new sale will need to be done regardless of you margins. Many of these tasks should be automated or be accomplished with simple systems in place. the point is though, if you have to do the work anyway, why sell a one hundred dollar product when you can make 10 to 100 times the profit with the same amount of effort with a high quality product that is relevant and answers a need in the marketplace?

I have found a 100k plus home based business in the personal development field. I work with some of the top income earners in the home based business industry here in the U.S. It is amazing to here the stories of individuals who basically had the ingredients to be successful but lack the opportunity. Home based businesses offer a realistic opportunity that is unlike that of corporate success or even traditional small business success.

In closing, it is important that you feel inspired by the products or services that you will be involved with. This is sited as one of the most important components of success. Make 2008 a great year and best regards with you 100k plus income opportunity.

Nikon D7000 Vs Nikon D300s

The folks at Nikon just can't help themselves. They produce one excellent digital SLR camera after another. The D7000 is no exception.

When you put the Nikon D7000 next to the D300s, they are quite similar in performance, however, there are some differences you may want to consider before passing over the plastic card.

Nikon has resisted the tendency to produce more and more pixels just because they can. The D300s is an excellent 12-megapixel image machine that has no limit to the excellence of quality. For most folks, a photo with more than 12-mp is not necessary.

However, the new model sports a sensor with 16.2-megapixels, still with outstanding quality. The resolution coupled with the DX format bring top quality images that will rival any of the full frame cameras.

Also improved is the ISO range. It has been increased from 200-3200 up to 100-6400 base range with expansion as high as 25600. That is truly amazing. No need for night vision goggles. This camera can practically see in the dark. The resulting images at high ISO are much improved over earlier models due to the processing technology.

The new DSLR also has a feature in the sensor called "exposure metering using 2016-pixel RGB sensor." Essentially, what this does is render images much more "pixel perfect" using computer comparisons to thousands of memorized exposure, white balance and lighting situations.

Video is present in the D300s at 720p HD input at 24 fps, but it has been upped to full 1080p HD video. But the really cool thing is the full-time auto-focus which is not available in many DSLR cameras. It also offers an external mic for high quality stereo sound,

Additionally, there are twin SD card slots to record more images and video, the older model has one CF and one SD slot.

As far as size, the newer model is a full 1/2 pound lighter making the load easier over the long haul.

Both models have 100% coverage in the viewfinder, which is a benefit that is worthy of mention, simply because other models do not have full coverage of the image area.

No matter which of these cameras you opt to purchase, you will be singing the praises of it, but the Nikon D7000 is bound to be at the top of the digital SLR mountain, at least until Nikon releases the next winner.

New York, New York - Undeniably One Helluva Town!

It is said that New York City has a certain unusual quality about it. New York can either devastate an individual or raise their level of play, their desire or purpose in some exciting way. As they say, if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere... or, you can leave with your tail between your legs.

As a native New Yorker, born in East Harlem, I know it to be unique, and I must say that it deserves the attention it gets as one of the world's most spectacular cities for all the following reasons.

It is a fact that New York City is the commercial center of the United States, as well as the heart of American advertising, fashion, publishing, and radio television broadcasting. It is the distillation of industry, trade, communication, entertainment, sports and arts, and boasts a generous representation of diverse ethnic groups and faith. Simply put, it's the melting pot that America is renowned for. It has a positive effect on the creative abilities of its inhabitants. I want to mention that the Five main Boroughs that comprise and add to the fame of the city of New York are Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. Each borough merits recognition for its magnificent landmarks, treasured historical sites, rich history and accomplishments. Yes, this diversity and non-stop electric action is what New York City is all about, and where millions visit each year to observe the riches and results of people's creative power.

As for the inhabitants and non-inhabitants of this enormous metropolis known as the "Big Apple", there are several groups of people: First, we have the native New Yorker. These are the individuals whose birthplace is New York City. Regardless to wherever they should go, there will always be some emotional attachment to their roots. Secondly, we have the outsiders born elsewhere who seem to gravitate to the big city They establish residency with zeal, whether it is for the numerous opportunities presented by the city, or simply because they feel lucky to live near others of their own kind. The adventurous, productive type. Thirdly, let us not forget, the millions of frustrated commuters that travel round trip to get to and work in the city. Finally, with all the attractions and entertainment that the city offers, there is the never-ending flow of millions of day-trippers and out of town tourists.

Though New York City may have a lot of positive characteristics, there is also a strong negative side to living in a metropolis of this magnitude. As the city becomes progressively more crowded, there is a greater concern, irritability and outright hostility caused by the fact that the city is clogged with people. It is almost impossible to find an empty taxi, parking spot, or even a seat on the bus or train. This has hardened New Yorkers.

People brand New Yorkers as offensive because of their out spoken qualities. To some effect, it may be true, but to present all New Yorkers as crude is a misstatement. There is a significant number of civil and sophisticated New Yorkers. However, we do have some people that speak their minds when annoyed, not all, but some. But let's not forget the tremendous sense of humor that characterizes most New Yorkers. Colloquialisms form part of their everyday life, which can be also interpreted as rudeness, such as: "That one could grow potatoes with those dirty ears; " "Why don't you take a long walk off a short pier; " "Hey, don't spit in the air, it might fall on your nose;" "Don't let your mouth run off 'til your brain's in gear;" "Oy Vey! With those bags, she needs a couple of pairs of shoes;" "He couldn't make a noun and a verb agree even if his life depended on it;" "I hope she lives to a 150 and looks it," and so on and so forth.

Some individuals have been ridiculed for their unique 'Noo Yawker' accent. Here are some examples: "Gedoutahea, yer puddin me on!" "Yeah, I kum fum Noo Yawk." "Would ja ged a grip!" " Did'ju or did'ja," "Would'ju or would'ja," "Soopah (Super)," "Fur sure I'm ohn the fawth floor," "Wawda "(water), "I'll have a tooner samwidge," (tuna sandwich), " I wud be da foist to tell you if my brudda was na here," "Fugheddaboudit! I ain't saying nuttin," and, " My mudda and fodda are goin downashaw ohn Lawnguylund."

Accustomed to social, political and economic upheavals, crime, overcrowding, deterioration of neighborhoods, intolerable housing, extortionate rents and high taxes, native New Yorkers accept the turbulence that is associated with daily life as a normal and inevitable way of life. However, it still doesn't stop them from openly vocalizing their frustrations and tensions with expressions such as: "The apartments are so expensive, unless you live in a rat infested roach hotel," "Those pushcart peddlers will rob you blind, selling hot merchandise no less," "There's no place to park unless you pile the cars on top of each other," "Oy Vey! Some of the neighborhoods look like a war zone," "I've got gates on my windows and three locks on my door, doesn't that tell you something?" "I hate the summer, smells like last year's garbage is still out there........." and so on and so forth.

Yet, in spite of all the discomforts, horrible tragedies and miseries, miraculously, most of those who crowd the city streets choose to stay. New York, New York, undeniably It's one helluva town.

For the millions of commuters, who travel daily to access business and investment opportunities, rush hour is a frightening scenario, as key roadways and bridges are jam-packed with cars, trucks, motorcycles and buses inching their way through bumper to bumper traffic. The overwhelming congestion of vehicles and passengers is everywhere. An aggravating hour or two spent traveling to one place in just one borough is quite common. Let's not forget to mention the subway. Train after train rumble and shake their way into the station, to be welcomed by an interminable barrier of commuters waiting, lined up on the platform. The crush of commuters all make a mad dash to the train, pushing and elbowing along the way. After a few seconds, the train doors slam shut, leaving the unlucky ones behind. Some frustrated passengers fly to push the doors open j-u-s-t far enough to wriggle their way inside before the train begins to move, hoping their arm, leg, pocket-book or brief case does not remain caught outside. If the train is a local, it will continue to stop and pick up more passengers along the way, thus intensifying the unbearable crowding. Ill-humored standing passengers are crushed together like sardines in a tin can with no room to fall if the train should grind to a stop.

This situation exists year round as New Yorkers and tourists swarm about, seeking out beaches, parks and other recreational areas looking for a way to unwind from the hurry-scurry of the week. Here and there, stranded motorists along the highway stand besides their cars in the sweltering, dizzying heat, worsening the weekend obstruction of thrill seekers. Once the transfer of the vehicles takes place, desperate motorists fly away frantically searching for a gas station, only to find themselves once again trapped in an enormous column of 50 to 100 cars inching their way to the pumps, hoping that the gas would not run out.

New York, New York is one helluva town. Hundreds of thousands of neighborhoods only a few blocks long and a couple of blocks wide, teeming with large selections of stores and shops functioning independently. Despite their public awareness of the American traditions, multi-ethnic groups continue to practice within their neighborhoods, their own traditions, customs, religious festivities and cuisines. The obvious presence of this difference is what makes America's town so extraordinary. Whether one lives in the neighborhoods of Park Slope, Jewish Lower East Side, Greenwich Village, Italian Harlem, Chinatown, El Barrio, Little Italy or Yorktown, life-long relationships are continually formed. So strong is this value of the neighborhood that many families, as well as their descendants, spend their entire lives living within its confines?

If one wishes to obtain entertainment, there is always something to do.

It is home to an awesome collection of large and small museums, primarily devoted to the arts and natural history. For example, because the Metropolitan Museum of Art is so widespread and visual, one should plan to spend a whole day there. As for burning off some of that accumulated energy pent up from your work week or satisfying your taste buds, there are plenty of bars, dance clubs and restaurants one can go to at all hours of the day and night. New York, New York is "A City that Never Sleeps." It is a place where history and the present diverge. Historians and experienced lecturers of leading walking tours take local residents and visitors alike along on exciting and unforgettable strolls through the Big Apple's ethnic neighborhoods, places of history, tradition and craftsmanship, creating lasting memories of an astonishing past.

Speaking about unforgettable memories; this reminds me of my visit several years ago to Manhattan's theater district, which is the most famous theater district in the world. I went to attend a matinee of "Hairspray". Seeing that I had arrived too early, I decided to take a walk through the district to familiarize myself once again with everything. There were the usual starry-eyed young aspiring actors, dancers and singers, portfolio in hand, swarming the area hastening to attend auditions in hopes of securing fame and fortune. The transportation situation remained unchanged. Cars continued to force their way through the streets aggressively, without giving any thought to pedestrians or other vehicles. I wanted desperately to cross the avenue, but with the congestion of traffic and chaos of horns honking, brakes screeching, hostile pedestrians screaming and waving their fists only added to my state of confusion. After living several years in the suburbs of New Jersey, unaccustomed to this never ending hustle and bustle of people and vehicles, I decided to return to the theater to wait in line. Suddenly from out of nowhere, a strong singing voice accompanied by musical instruments penetrated the air. How exciting, a free presentation was being given by striking amateur sidewalk entertainers, displaying their musical talents for meager donations. Once inside the theater, my attention was riveted to the stage throughout the entire performance of "Hairspray" as I absorbed the elements of music, drama, and dance, working together as a whole in artistic creativity. This first viewing of a live Broadway musical became a memorable experience for me. There were so many people, I assumed that all the other on and off Broadway theaters were discharging at the same time. Like a swarm of bees, the famished theater-goers, including yours truly, rushed about here, there, everywhere, in search of the nearest restaurant. Satisfied with my steaming cup of coffee, delicious hamburger with onions and a portion of New York cheesecake, I reluctantly returned to New Jersey, promising myself to another exciting trip to my hometown.

All this and much more continue to add to the colorful, exciting atmosphere of the Big Apple. So if, one asks me if I am pleased to have been a New Yorker? With pride, I would answer: "You Betcha!" Undeniably, "It's one helluva town."

Turtle Age - Tips to Help You Determine Your Turtle's Age

Turtle age - do you know how old your pet turtle is? Did you know that the average lifespan of a turtle kept as a pet is forty years? A turtle can even live much longer than that - up to 100 years, probably longer than its original owner! The turtle's longevity also varies according to the type or class to which it belongs in the animal kingdom. It is astonishing to know that the oldest turtle on record lived to be two hundred and fifty years old!

Let's examine some interesting facts about the turtle, and see if we can figure out how old your new pet is!

Studies show that turtles first appeared on the earth over two million years ago. This remarkable fact makes them one of the oldest-known creatures on our planet. Turtles have been called living fossils, meaning there has been little change in the species since their first appearance on earth!

Turtle ownership has become more and more popular over the years. Hence, it is now normal to have a pet turtle passed from one generation of a family to the next, so that, in some instances, the pet turtle can actually and amazingly outlive its original owners!

Determining the correct age of a turtle may not be definitive. For pet owners who have just acquired their turtles, their pets' ages cannot be known for sure, especially if they were just captured from the wild.

In the past, people have theorized that counting the rings or lines on the turtle's shell is a way of determining its age. Unfortunately, this is not a reliable method. The turtle's shell may be damaged over time, making the number of rings unclear. Layers of the carapace will fall off during its lifetime, and the turtle may go through growth spurts, developing more than one ring per year. As turtles mature, the markings or lines on their shells also become less-defined, or may even deteriorate. This, in turn, would make counting the rings difficult and unreliable. Therefore, we should use this method of turtle age determination only as an estimate of years.

It is the responsibility of human beings to ensure turtles achieve long and healthy life spans in the wild by enacting and enforcing laws to protect their natural habitats. In captivity, pet turtles can suffer from illnesses and die if their requirements for proper nutrition and habitat are not provided by their owners.

Turtles have also been counted among the animals that are in danger of becoming extinct. This is brought upon by the loss of their natural habitat; whether by greedy poachers illegally removing them from the wild or by developers encroaching on their feral habitat.

The crucial fact to be considered, therefore, is not determining the turtle's exact age, but in ensuring that it will actually experience and enjoy a long life. This is where your task as a responsible pet owner comes in. With the proper nourishment and exercise, housing that comes as close to replicating the natural habitat of the turtle as possible, and protection from predators and improper handling, your pet turtle will be sure to live many years, and may even be inherited by the next generation in your family!

The Current Best Selling Books on the Market

With thousands of books written every year on all sorts of topics from business to fiction to religious, it is impossible to read every book released. Thankfully, The New York Times gives us some help by releasing and constantly updating the best-seller list for all of the topics you can imagine. Here are the current best sellers for four different categories.

The number 2 non-fiction book is Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella. Finally, the number 1 best seller is Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. This is another contemporary thriller by Picoult about a high school shooting.

The number 3 non-fiction best seller on the New York Times list is 'I Feel Bad About My Neck' by Nora Ephron. This comedy book discusses the topic of aging, in particular women aging. The number 2 book is 'A Long Way Gone' by Ishmael Beah, which takes into account the life of a young boy at the age of 12 who is swept into the horrifying world of civil war. The best seller currently for non-fiction books is 'In An Instant' by Lee and Bob Woodruff. This tells the tale of the traumatic experience Bob Woodruff experienced in Iraq and how he and Lee Woodruff worked through the difficult times after.

Children
Number 3 on the list for children's books is Flotsam by David Wiesner. It all begins as a boy finds a camera that is washed ashore, and from there it is an adventure full of pictures. The number 2 best seller is Today I Will Fly! by Mo Willems, which tells the story of a piggie who is optimistic about flying and an elephant that is skeptical. With a little help from others, amazing things happen. Lastly, the number one book is Someday by Alison McGhee, which tells an enchanting story of a mother's dream coming true, watching her child live life to the fullest.

Religion
The number 3 religious book is The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. This book guides you to learn to understand and speak the unique language of love through a couple's guidance. The second book on the best seller list is by Richard Dawkins entitled The God Delusion. Richard Dawkins attacks arguments for the existence of God in this controversial book. The number one religious book on the market is Grace by Anne Lamott, which takes Lamott's life into the realm of reality as problems of faith pop up in the most unexpected places.

There are hundreds of brilliantly written books on the market, even within the four categories listed above. But starting with the best sellers from the New York Times is a good place to begin. Enjoy!

House Extension Designs & Ideas

Making a extension for your home is a great alternative than moving out and finding bigger spaces to live in. You add extra rooms and more living space, even install some new decorations and other equipment. And there are so many ways you could go about to redesign and renovate your home.

Before you start working on the extension designs, you need to take into account a lot of important factors while planning for the project. With so many possibilities in how to redecorate and redesign your home, there are so many things that could happen and even go wrong. You might even need professional help with this one, so it is best that you consult an architect or engineer to find out what kind of addition would best suit your home.

Some of the factors that could affect our decision in your house extension idea include lighting, as to how much you want the extension to have natural or artificial lighting at different parts of the day. The number of windows in your house is also important, as they are responsible for natural lighting and circulation of air inside the structure. And you might need to decide whether you need more of that or less of it. You also need to take into account how this house extension would affect your neighbours, as well as how accessible the house would be afterward.

Here are some helpful tips and guides you would like to need for your house extension plans:

Ground Floor House Extensions
Depending on how much available space you have for your ground level, you would either have an easy way or to make compromises to add your extensions. If you have a typical suburban home, then your extensions would expand to the backyard. You could add an additional veranda, a sunroom, or extend your living room. But if you have lesser space tat would cause trouble with the extension, then you need to determine your home's property lines.

Second Floor House Extensions
Making a house extension on the second floor of your home is trickier and requires some favourable weather for building. Note that your roof would be open to the elements during the renovation, so you need to pick a time when you know the weather would not get in the way of building and would not ruin the inside of your house. But one of the good points of building a second floor extension is that it would sometimes be less expensive, because there would be no need for building a foundation for it.

When your house extension plans are ready to be worked on, make sure that you complete all the necessary building permits you need for the construction. You may even need to inform our neighbours about the house extension, because the renovation and construction would most likely affect their lives as much as yours. And make sure that how much you are going to spend for extending you project would be within your budget, and that would still have plenty of budget left to add some decorations and furniture in the new extensions.

Burnt Generation of Iran

"Chapter 1 - Tears of Babylonia"

My name is Sepehr, an Iranian, Born to be discriminated.
I always ask myself, what is to be faithful?
Water is coming down, and you're shaky like a boat full of holes. What is faith? When you are walking on 2' of snow into the streets of Tehran and you will see a girl is running away, while 4 men in police uniforms are chasing her, you can hear her screams, you can hear angry people shouting and changing color, attacking those men and you can hear a gunshot, yes everything's suddenly quit, yes this is Iran, this is Tehran and I'm its citizen, and I'm looking for my ticket out of hell gate of extreme Islam.

I'm passing by a mosque, a young Basiji look at my shaved face and invites me to his house of wisdom, encourage me to connect my soul to Allah, their mosque is really a truth detector, you can look at their face when they are praying , feel and see that god is the last thing they are thinking about, I refuse, I never submit, I shall flee to America like my last prince fled to chine after the Islamic invasion of Persia.
I never submit. (Islam = Submission)

Trust me, Exile is dark, but it isn't all regret, disco, party and cry, it isn't all love, sex, drug and no missing the rainy days of my hometown, for an Iranian its darker, it's all darkness Since the day I was born in the mountains of Zagros, from a Kurd/Caspian mother and a Jewish/Zoroastrian father.

It's almost September, Americans are making themselves ready for a new president, a new face, after so many rumors, conflicts and passing redlines over having a woman and a black man as candidates, calling Obama Osama, picking on his middle name Hussain or bringing racial differences finally the world saw America is indeed a great nation and yes a black man is its final democratic candidate.

But right after Americans more than any other race or nation Iranians are desperate to see the result, for us it's not only 8 years of facing another American president, its facing our destiny, facing a new world It's me crying while McCain was singing bomb, bomb, bomb Iran, it's my mom staring at TV with wide open mouth while her favorite woman Hillary talked about Iran's obliteration. It's me staring at Obama's face like he is a winged Greek angel coming down to rescue the world from tyranny and chaos. So I told myself I have to write this, it's a message, a letter from the deepest part of my heart to my American brothers and sisters in this free country full of opportunities to not only make better things for itself but the whole world, one of few nations that my people amazingly trust in.

What is Faith? When you are walking into the sands of Yazd, under the sun? And ruins of an old fire-temple?

since we don't have a real president ourselves we always look at America as our bigger brother, it started when I was looking at the picture of shah beside JFK as a 10 years old kid, it had such a strong effect on me stronger than any brainwashing anti-American program broadcasted by IRIB! Son, that's JFK my father said, and he was a good man like shah, and he was killed too, well last generation of Iranians like my father believe shah was emotionally killed...and that was my moment, USA was the New Persian Empire, and well back for me as a 10 years old Clint Eastwood was its king, I had to go to America. Today almost more than a million Iranians are living in USA. After Iran, USA has the largest population of Iranian origin.

10 years passed, 9/11 happened, Iran is a state of inside conflict with ahmadinejad in power and humiliated 2nd of Khordad Movement therefore More Iranians started immigrating to west in the fear of another war. Finally big brother gave my family a gift, I received my green card after 13 years of wait, that's another story to write about but we flyed away from Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport To United state of America, the Neo-Persian Empire of my dreams and I whispered to the big picture of supreme leader ayatollah khameneii "we never submit".*

I never experienced freedom; democracy doesn't have any meaning or a true form to me, I never saw Mosadeq liberating the Iranian oil industry, I never saw those famous demonstrations against shah in Tehran street, I didn't vote for the Islamic republic and I never burnt an American flag and I never saw another civilian do it, I read about operation AJAX but it doesn't matter when half of my family are already Americans, what is important is that I already passed the red line when I was born, and that's to be Iranian, a 21th century Persian who has to answer for everything others do and did in the past. I have to answer but we as a whole have to face the destruction and that is sad. It's sad to see how bringing down a monarch and changing him with an Islamic fundamentalist turned the destiny of not only my country but millions of free people. In the fear of big boar the world turned to Ayatollah of death but in the end everything turned to be worse, central Asia became the live large scene of terrorism, war and conflict. Nations attacking and stabbing each other in the back, and finally hell broke loose and thousands died in 9/11. If you walk in the street of Tehran and talk with an Iranian, you only find one answer, the second Arab invasion or The Islamic Revolution of 79 backed by America against Russian domination.

Now it's time again, Iranians are looking at their big brother, America is really our big brother, when was the last time we chose our destiny? 14 centuries ago? So big brother hear us, we the Iranian youth trust in you, actually after all you done, we even love you, so please use this opportunity, help us and we help you and together we shall undo our mistakes.

Another war, another attack on Iran will make the Islamic republic stronger than ever. Some things never work on certain races; Iranians can't stand occupation or invasion. We are indeed living in a prison right now, with thousand of Osama wannabes and Palestinian Mercenaries marching in streets of Tehran with their new fancy labels such as Basij Of People beating up boys and girls in the name of the still uninvited Allah, and this is the best time to strike against this government of darkness with more sanctions and pressures.
There is a Persian saying "What is happening to us is from ourselves, shame on our race if we did not learn from our past".

I ask myself, what is happening to my people; my homeland maybe has a connection with our past, with my ancestor's deeds, but does it really? But If I believe in this how can I still worship a fair and powerful god? Everything I know about my ancestors is good and if not our land was far better than today's central Asian and Middle East desperate nations. Persia A super power nation ruling a vast empire not only once but more than a millennium. But it was finally brought on to its destruction by Muslim Arab invaders. We should learn now, before it's too late.

Cyrus the great my ancient father, the man who created the empire of light, attacked the Babylonian empire in 539 BC, brought down Nabonidus and created the largest empire in the ancient world, freed the Jews and rebuilt the temple of Israel in Jerusalem:
Thus says Yahweh to his anointed, to Cyrus, whom he has taken by his right hand to subdue nations before him and strip the loins of kings, to force gateways before him that their gates be closed no more: I will go before you leveling the heights. I will shatter the bronze gateways, smash the iron bars. I will give you the hidden treasures, the secret hoards, that you may know that I am Yahweh. (Isaiah 45:1-3)

Joining of two great nations, two faith groups resulted in what I'm today; they call us the Esther's children, Half Persian Zoroastrian Half Jewish by Blood, a Persian Jew...
King Xerxes gave up his whole corrupted army to free Esther and Persian Jews, I wish I was in that time, those honest days, god still was there, watching over our spirits. But when first wave of Muslims attacked us and killed millions of my countrymen, beheaded the Rostam Farrokhzad and assassinated my king Yazdgard III, our land was left alone to riot till this very day. President Ahmadinejad is the latest one to show the world how Muslims ruined a great culture into chaos, a man who wants to wipe out the world. His words are greave and pain for millions of my people. He was digging a grave for all of us; I had to get out of that place, I had to taste a little bit of freedom...

"Chapter 2 - Tasting Freedom"

It's a strange world, in a moment you can see yourself among your classmates and comrades marching on the streets near the famous Tehran University toward the infamous revolution Square yelling and shouting with all of our power against the arrests of our friends, a web logger, a Kurd journalist and a teacher while the regime agents are shooting smoke grenades, calling us traitors and American spies, I can feel the high amount of adrenaline pumping into my veins, my heart is ready to explode, how can I be a spy? What I want is really noting, what I want is one of the simplest needs of human being, I want to hold her hands and together seat in our favorite spot in a shiny day and talk about our daily life, I want to breathe, and I want to kiss her without hiding in the shade.

But that moment is gone.

Suddenly its July 2008, 3 years passed by like a second, it's so calm, not my streets, I can see myself on my way to delta college, this is Stockton, this is America, this is tasting freedom, but really? Is this it? All I can sense and hear is sepehr you are not welcome...
Statue of liberty, I love her, look like an angel, like Mithras the Persian goddess and she is finally looking after me...finally.

I saw this book at one of the famous chain store, by looking at the front cover, an Iranian girl covered in pink Hijab I already guessed half of the book, it was about an Iranian girl coming to America and how hard it was for her to taste the unlimited freedom, how it was hard for her to have new relationships and understand love, I was like telling the author what are you talking about? Disco? Sex? Throwing away the Hijab? That's what you think we Iranians are looking for? Honestly American media doesn't have a slightest idea about Iranian life. People forget soon, they just look at our last 30 years, they don't remember Googoosh, Queen Suraya, and shah, people confuse Iranians with Arabs or think Iranians are anti-Jewish, in fact Iran has the largest population of Mizrahi Jews after Israel in middle-east! We Iranians maybe have problems to face modernization but that's only a quarter of Iran. We already passed that issue, now it's a modernize us against an orthodox conservative extreme Islamic force that wants to shape us, turn us into a angry horde of zombies with no brain to just remain at power, in order to spread the idea into Iraq and even Lebanon, they want to stay in power like any other dictator did.
Almost more than a quarter of Iranians are living in Tehran and other large cities. People with their amazingly mixed part westernized part Islamic and part heavy Persian Zoroastrian culture, trying to get the best fun out of their lives. We maybe can't say things like down with khameneii out load but we whisper it in our tiny little coffee shops, smoke our sometimes rare but famous Kent light cigarettes and kiss at dark corners of wide and Wild Street of Tehran. It's part of our vampire life. Millions of hidden Satellite dishes are looking at the sky broadcasting Persian DJs and Rappers inside and aboard, and while thousands are at Friday prayer, boys and girls are kissing each other behind the trees cause all the guards are worshiping the ayatollah for now.

But it's amazing how the west and America is watching us, showing us and introducing us to the new generation. Every time I turn the TV on, and if, 1 to 100 there is a program about iran , it's an old villager guy from talking about how ahmadinejad is going to do better! Or it's our crowded moments of the old Tehran's bazaar, and if I get lucky! Sometimes I can even see the Friday prayers! What do you really think? You think they want change? Bazaar, Seriously? I haven't seen one program about millions of protests the Iranian students did and doing in their called normal daily educational life, under heavy beatings and the sky full of NAJA helicopters and tear gas. Who's asking my father? he was in SAVAK prison for years when he was a students but is against the Islamic republic since, whose asking my mom, interested in the left party, oh I asked her, more than 75% of her friends are dead. Come to shemiran, come to valieasr and see the horde of young people like me looking for you to show the truth of us to the world. Ask us and we tell you how many of us are ducked at home because we didn't vote for ahmadinejad therefore don't have the required stamp on our IDs to even try entering our favorite university. We tell you how we have to sneak in the shadow, pass the mosque and enter the church or our temple while we are worried to not get killed in the next second. Broadcast these and maybe the whole world sees that we never voted for the IRI, never asked for the free milk and don't want the atomic peaceful bomb!!! We want to have a little bit of freedom and I promise you, if we manage to do it, and somebody like Ahmad batebi becomes the president, Israel and America are the first we come to.
The American world has no idea what we make out of our daily life over there, we make rare moments, yes we can't hug each other and drown to each other in the public metro station, no we can't taste the freedom there, but we do it on the roof our homes, under the clear sky. We climb the Mount Damavand and read Hafez poets inside our tents and we dance over candles and drink our Shiraz wine in secrecy. We buy a T-shirt to wear it on the top of our "Los Angeles" tees in order to hide them.

Why people think the Islamic government cares if we French kiss or drink alcohol? Are universities students, young girls and women shouting and yelling for their rights to have bikinis on? Well of course that can be one of the reasons! The more drug or sex addict we become the easier is the ayatollah job or to remain at power, what the mullahs are afraid of is that Iranians are solely a free race, we are free souls looking for opportunities to rise, looking for answers, for success, for equal rights, I want to know why a rich land like Iran has lot of low class population since Qajar dynasty. Why every time we are hungry for reality the whole world make such a huge plan to stop us? It's like the movie Matrix, Yesterday it was oil and Mosadeq, then shah and his plans for a better Iran, and now after 30 years we are finally at that point again, millions of people are against the regime of Iran, we want or homeland back, hear us world, we are shouting, we don't want nuclear power, we want our own Freeland. Americans know the value and the meaning of that word "My own Freeland?" but no, there is no answer, the only answer I can hear is the sound of falcon engines ready to obliterate 70 million potential great allies to the free people of world, Israel and America.

I'm a college student, the only Iranian born student at my college, first time I tried to talk with an American, I was called a potential terrorist, and was reminded that FBI is watching me and how profiled I'm and was instructed to not try to gain Americans and specially his trust! That's very funny how the world looks like to some American youth, how paranoid they are toward new different races and how they think others are poor, lonely and desperate to be trusted by them. I believe in America. America is a symbol for me, it's not like I need its trust, I can be in Tehran and still believe in America like my father and grandpa, it's like believing in Persia, having faith in a system is totally different from being desperate to be loved by its people, I want to be loved and trusted by my own people first like anybody else but I believe Iranians, Americans and people of Israel are more fit to be lovers than any other nations historically and according to what I can say certain mutual benefits. It's a big mistake to not shown the reality of Iranian race and culture to American youth and ruining relationships between some generations by heavy themed commercial action flicks like 300 (west against east! Persia against Greeks, Iranians against Americans! 3000 years of conflict! As far as I know we Iranians are the only ones still proud of our ancient western roots), especially when a million or more Iranian-Americans are living in USA.

Why? I started to believe there is something wrong with the world, I really don't care about corrupted systems and blind politicians, since the Romans we had them, walking and talking by their code, but we always had the peasants, the lower class, and most of the time we commoners lived by honor, by truth, but not anymore, I started to sense that the majority of humans are ignorant and blind these days. My father used to tell me media themed religions and political views are Opium for the majority of population. They are made to put you in a place and make you busy with fear and paranoia, if that works on you, you lost your sense of humanity forever. That is what happening people are getting so lost that they are okay with nuking countries, blowing up buses full of babies and women and children because they think they are faithful. A million died in Iraq and when I ask people, what is this? They say this is the holy war, against whom? Saddam was Satan but he killed less than this in 20 years, we sure chose a wrong path. Why should I expect god to watch us over? He made us as one, he told us to be united and we didn't listen, and now we are left alone in this wild dark world, I don't want to force myself to believe, but sometimes I believe his creation has flaws, or maybe he isn't that powerful he is claiming to be.

I'm a Persian Jew, a mixed-race, by quantities rare, my father was born from a Jewish mother and a Zoroastrian father, a marriage similar to Queen Esther and King Xerxes, there are only 200000 or less of us living in this world, all killed by Alexander the great, by Muslim and their Islamic conquests over Persia and finally Genghis khan and his heir. Coming to America for me was like an opportunity to finally express myself, but...
To most Americans I'm just an Ey-Ranian or Ey-Raki, they don't even try to ask me which one I'm, who I'm, what I'm, it's funny and sad at the same time if you look at It this was I was considered as an infidel inside my own country because I didn't follow the Islamic rules and now in USA I'm considered as an outlaw or infected cause I'm from Iran! Sometimes I feel I should act like a priest, my father is a real one so I know how to, but also I want to yell: god are your there? Give me a rest, I lost my brother in the war, my parents divorced, I tried to live as a minority, as a Zoroastrian Jew in Iran, just kill me and get over it. no I don't want to be called an infidel anymore, I don't want to be called a desert kike or a potential terrorist, I just want to breathe and live, but then I think this is our destiny, I should say since the Islamic invasion over Persia (633-656) our people were persecuted by their rulers.

"Chapter 3 - Some Fish Can Fly"

When our last Shah left Iran with his illness and broken heart, I wasn't even born what I know is that Europeans and united states didn't want the left party to govern an important country like Iran, they were afraid of communism so much that accepted an extreme Islamic ruler to come after shah. Ayatollah Khomeini, the Imam of death we call him, of course he knew his homework, after few months of brainwashing the young generation and giving the hope of oil money for all families and free milk in the morning he bought the Iranians hearts. What he did after changed the history of mankind. He started a full scale Shia Islamic war against Muslims and non-Muslims; he started to talk about exporting Islam to other countries.

Indeed what is happening today in middle-east and central Asia is because we left the bad for worse, we kicked away a monarch for an extreme religious leader, for another dark age, why should god help us? We humans continue to forget soon, we don't appreciate our freedom.

Saddam and Hezbollah never had a chance to wake up and talk in the time of shah, beside his charming approach he was a man of wisdom, and that was his weak point, he started a new relationship with Israel, he left the Arabs for Afghanistan, Tajikistan and India and when they asked him why? He said Aryan (Indo-Iranian) brotherhood, he said that blue eyed people forget to easily they are drowned into their lives so much they can't see how messed up the future will be, but they didn't listen to him, they said he is creating another South Korea, another Japan, and worse he has oil, we don't want him, now is the time to get rid of him.

Islamic revolution was an opportunity for another dictator named Saddam Hussein, he thought himself as neo-Babylonian king, he wanted to avenge his father's defeat against the Aryans, the AJAM (Arabs call Persians the AJAMS means the mute, the one who learned the language from Arabs) and we the Iranian people.
Saddam had the support of many powerful countries like Germany, Russia and in the end united state. Germans liked shah, Germans always liked Iranians, in 1935 Reza shah Pahlavi changed the title of our country from Persia to Iran because Hitler said Iranians are the true Aryans of 19th century, it was an unfortunate event. Of course for my paternal Jewish family it wasn't a good sign, my grandfather started to act as a member of left party and for many years hid his true identity. It was continued in my family as a duty, my father hid his identity from the government of Iran and his friends, in the time of Islamic revolution my father was one of the leaders of freedom party movement, SAVAK (Shah's intelligence Agency) arrested him many times, he was a prisoner for 3 years, what is weird is after almost 30 years he is still favor shah to these Islamic monkeys and puppets of Iran.

Saddam told the world he is going to capture the capital in 2 days, he couldn't the war lasted for 2 years and then Saddam offered a treaty, the Arab world promised to pay billions in dollars for the damages of war and other benefits. People were happy, the capital was a ruin, and people were tired form daily bombardments.
West supported and sold the infamous or maybe famous poison gas (mostly sulfur mustard) to Saddam; he used it against the Iranians and Kurds. About 100,000 Iranian soldiers died from it including my 19 years old cousin. She was a nurse, a beautiful girl, an angel. I remember she gave me a Persian new year red fish we call them the little newroz fish (newruz: new day - the beginning of the new year in Persian/Kurdish/Tajik/Afghani calendar). Maybe it was a sign from god but I knew my beloved cousin is dead before anyone. the little fish was left on the carpet, that sign from god or not, helped me to start a fight with that voice in my head, I started to not listen to him anymore, after a while he stopped talking to me, I lost my faith, I lost my god, I guess in the end some fish can fly...
Ayatollah Khomeini didn't accept the offer; they advanced to the Iraqi lands. Iranian regime lost in the end. The theory of exporting Islam didn't work in that way, their imam Khomeini died and another generation of murderers and terrorists came to power.

"Last Chapter - whispering with the gods while Praying to Satan"

Why I lost my faith, my passion over my god, over my guardian Mithra and the lord Ahura Mazda?

I was 9 years old when my parents divorced, my brother died in the scary Evin prison not so far from our house without us knowing about it. My mother had a panic attack, my father had an affair, and our family was separated and dead.

My name is Sepehr, a potential Iranian-American, born to be free, and inside me there is an Emperor, an Emperor from the Empire of glory, power and in the end pain...Yes we are Persian, a burnt generation.

[i don't have enough space to publish the rest of this chapter so i will submit it later]

"So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken." (Torah 3:23)
