SketchUp Concept Home Walkthrough

This is the main floor of my concept home I modeled in SketchUp. The house is intended to be mostly subterranean, set into a hill with a green yard roof. The large glass wall of the living room and kitchen peers out of the hillside and is situated for maximum daylight illumination. A freestanding coat and shoe closet is found upon entry. Here, a staircase hugs the backside of the curved dining room wall and leads into the basement. The curved wall penetrates both floors like a continuous column. Stairs lead down into the living room from the main entry. Here, the ceiling height is also lowered, allowing for a band of windows between the two ceiling levels. In the living room, a segment of the wall appears to be a regular mirror, but is actually a one-way-mirror, reflecting light back into the home, while acting as a "window" for the basement. The living room floor continues beyond the glass wall out into the patio, creating an indoor/outdoor living experience. A greenhouse straddles both the interior of the kitchen and the outdoors, and is ideal for herbs and fresh produce. Alongside this is an all-weather outdoor area for grilling with a cantilevered roof. The dining room table sits into a well in the floor. The table seats six, but can be expanded to seat more than double by adding an extension to heighten its base and by attaching a larger circular tabletop.
