Contemplating Monolithic Design with Sony

Sony's exhibition with BarberOsgerby at Milano Salone del Mobile 2010. For the first time ever, a showcase of Sony Design will be revealed exclusively as part of the Milano Salone del Mobile 2010 exhibition, which will be a visual insight into Sonys creative essence and evolving approach to living room design. At the exhibition, Sony will be showcasing its Monolithic Design; a new design concept that Sony has recently introduced across its TV and home entertainment range. This design concept was ignited by a passion to bring about change in peoples attitude in relation to their living space and encourage a change in lifestyle behaviour through the presence of these TV and home entertainment products. For this exhibition, Sony invited Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to work alongside Sony designers due to their credentials in furniture and lighting designs, to push the ideas to a new level. As leading contemporary designers they bring a new interpretation of individuality, lifestyle and experimentation to this project. Sonys design team have worked with Edward and Jay to explore the minimal essence of the Monolithic Design concept as inspiration to co-create the look and feel of the space and the pieces within it. The result of working with Edward and Jay for this project has produced a range of archetypes which explore ways of integrating product within contemporary lifestyles. Look at Sony's monolithic design

Sony shows BarberOsgerby Milan Furniture Fair 2010. For the first time, a showcase of Sony's design is only within the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2010 shows a visual overview of the nature of Sony's creative approach to living and evolving project will be unveiled. In the show, Sony will introduce its stunning design, a new design concept that Sony has recently introduced on his television and home entertainment district. This concept designwas the passion to bring a change of attitude towards the people and their environment to a change in lifestyle behavior triggered by the presence of television and entertainment products for the home. For this exhibition, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby Sony invited to work alongside designers from Sony with their credentials in the design of furniture and lighting to push the ideas to a new level. As a contemporary designers, offering a new interpretation of individuality, lifestyleand experiments in this project. Sony's design team worked with Edward and Jay to the minimum core of the monolith to explore the concept of design as inspiration for co-creating the look and feel of the room and share in it.
