A few years ago my wife and I decided we would travel the U.S. in a semi-retired state. We kicked out the kids (all above 21), sold our house and bought an RV. Now live situations change, and we did not get on the road at least not yet. We ended up staying in the area and taking full-time jobs. But we remain committed to the time in the RV as full-timers.

We are avid campers since before we were married. I have to sneak up to U.S., where my wife (then girlfriend)and her family were camping and pitch a tent, then you make me a part of the family. In the nearly 40 years we are together and camping, we have never met anyone that was rude, a thief, or unwilling to create a hand if asked. In fact, we have had more offers of help, without asking, than at any time, we lived in a house or apartment.
It's funny, but when I traveled and stayed in hotels, she felt almost like a ghost or leopard or something. God forbid if you said 'hello', someone in theElevator or hallway. But offering camping, all the waves as you walk past, a few drinks or have you sit by the fire and talk for hours. Its like we are all family.
