RV Living Verses Apartment Living

A few years ago my wife and I decided we would travel the U.S. in a semi-retired state. We kicked out the kids (all above 21), sold our house and bought an RV. Now live situations change, and we did not get on the road at least not yet. We ended up staying in the area and taking full-time jobs. But we remain committed to the time in the RV as full-timers.

The purpose of the article is to provide an insight into the possibilities of using RV's offer to replace the flatsand the benefits of RVing. First a little background for those who are not familiar with the (Recreational Vehicles RV) terms. Campers are divided into different categories.

Class A are the bus-like vehicles you see driving down the road. These are also called mobile homes, and for good reason. Class A are the creme de la creme so to speak. They are the most expensive in terms of cost, but have the storage and amenities. I have seen some very nice class A and ifimprove the time for us, or trade our current RV we will meet again in the Class A. However, my tastes start in the $ 250,000 range to justify a little hard for me.

Next Class B, these mini-motor homes. They are based up on a light to medium truck chassis and the cab of the vehicle's appearance can be determined. I think that this will not be used for the full time if you really likely to like small towns. Some newer class B, including what areFilms, which is used as part of the RV that "Slide-out from the body gives you more living space inside. Are living area, is what you are looking for the long term.

After the class B is fifth wheels. Fifth wheels are trailers towed by pickup trucks. Thus, to a fifth wheel, you also need a pick-up of suitable size. I would be paying at least a ¾ ton pickup. Fifth wheels offer an advantage over the Class A and Class B, once you have theFifth wheel is built on a campsite, the truck is released and can be used for transportation. With Class A & B Motor home, you need to either drag or bring another vehicle to avoid. Fifth Wheels Class A RV approach in institutions and in some cases more space. Dollar for dollar you will be more housing in a fifth wheel than a Class A. You

However, you need an expensive tractor (truck) to be considered as part of the purchase price must. The fifthWheel is also part of a class as a "tow". The next "towable" is the trailer (TT). This is like the fifth wheel, with the exception of the compounds with the towing vehicle. With TT you are connected to a hook near the front bumper of the vehicle sits. Therefore, only about every vehicle has the capability of towing a TT depending on size and weight of course. Class A, fifth wheels and travel trailers are the 3 main zipper that you will find people who are in a full-time basis. After the TT is the camper-class. These are easy to RV really not suitable for full-time, but I have met people that full-time in pop-ups, truck campers and even tents. The top of the line for the camper-Class is probably the truck campers.

These are units that slide into the bed of a pickup truck. In general, the maximum length of not more than 12 meters from front to back, and perhaps 10 feet is one side to another. They are very compact. These offer a high degree of freedom byto quickly set up and take down so that you can move quickly from place to place. But just as the class A & B, your home is also your transportation, unless you bring another vehicle with you. The last group of the banana is the pop-up tents or trailers. These have a study box frame and as the name implies, pop-up or increase the lift to the roof above the frame. This class of campers usually have soft sides of fabric. I have pop-ups for the year as an alternative to the hotels, while onMissions throughout the country. Some campsites in the middle of winter to have snow on the ground in a popup. Needless to say, was a heating required, and it ran all day and all night. The night was cold, it can not keep up with, so am a bit of fun was getting out of bed. It was 20 degrees outside and about 50 inside.

This is a basic overview of the types of RV available. As mentioned above, are Class A, fifth wheel and travel trailer units, which most peoplefind for the full-time living.

Our experience with living full time in an RV.

We currently have a fifth wheel is our Jayco and is 38 meters long with 3 slides. A slide is in the bedroom, the other two films are in the living room one on each side of the trailer. After nearly 3 years in the RV as full-timers, we both love it. My wife likes to say, it takes less than an hour to clean from front to back, floor to ceiling.

Let us begin withthe financial side of living in an RV. You have the cost of the RV. They are treated like cars. When you buy new, take a beating on depreciation. However, as a home, the interest tax deductible. So the best deal seems to be a unit, the one or two years old and funded. If you want to buy new figure, a discount of 25-30% discount from list price. Our unit was delivered in 2003 are still on the property in 2005 with 2006 units. The sticker price was about$ 65,000. We paid $ 40,000, we save about 38 percent. Now, at the time we did not have a motor vehicle so that the dealer delivered the fifth wheel to a near by campground.

Oak Grove, Hatfield, PA is a year round camping. This is important. They want to find a campground that offers year round operations. You do not want to take off in the winter. Many campsite near November to March or early April. When we started, our rent was $ 375 per month and included waterand electric. Our only other expense was propane for heating and hot water. Oak Grove from 2 delivered to 100 kg propane tank and it automatically changes the tanks for us. This is really nice, a bit like automatic oil delivery, if you own a house. In the warmer months, we rarely use a propane, maybe a bottle every two months if at all. However, the winter we will be 3-4 bottles you use one months due to heating. Currently running on propane, $ 50 per bottle. So from the perspective of the hiring of aFlats to live in an RV expenses are cheaper in general. My daughter pays $ 750 per month for an apartment near to us and we will pay on average $ 425-450.

Other advantages of living in an RV - people! The people you find are the most beautiful camping people you meet ever. They are friendly, helpful, young at heart and simply beautiful to. We are avid campers since before we were married. I have to sneak up to U.S., where my wife (then girlfriend)and her family were camping and pitch a tent, then you make me a part of the family. In the nearly 40 years we are together and camping, we have never met anyone that was rude, a thief, or unwilling to create a hand if asked. In fact, we have had more offers of help, without asking, than at any time, we lived in a house or apartment.

It's funny, but when I traveled and stayed in hotels, she felt almost like a ghost or leopard or something. God forbid if you said 'hello', someone in theElevator or hallway. But offering camping, all the waves as you walk past, a few drinks or have you sit by the fire and talk for hours. Its like we are all family.

Speaking of fire, is what it is about a bonfire? To sit in the night at a nice camp fire is so relaxing. Nothing needs to be said, only see the flames and it seems from all the stress just float. But campfires have another advantage, Essen. Nothing tastes better than food cooked over an open fire. Try doing that in aApartment.

RVing has another advantage holidays. If you live in an apartment, you are going to leave, a goal the search for a hotel / motel, eating every meal, and taking enough clothes with you for the duration of the holiday. If you live in a motorhome, you go home with you. 30-40 minutes to pack the RV, disconnect the utilities and hook up to the truck and you're on the road. When you get to your destination, another 30-40 minutes and you're ready to enjoy thesites. Meals are no problem, you have a complete kitchen quite like home care because she is at home. On a special diet? No problem, just normal routine without interruption. Dirty clothes, lots of RV are equipped with washers and dryers, so you can do your laundry while relaxing in the evening or before you start for the day. RVing is cheaper in general. Comparing the cost of the RV trip to be found, is much cheaper than a hotel / restaurant trip.

These are just some of theComply with things when you are in search of an apartment to live in a verse RV. I hope you find useful information.
